HarpWeek Commentary:  In July the Democratic Convention refused to re-nominate Andrew Johnson for President. He had no horse to ride, as Thomas Nast showed both Republican and Democratic hobbyhorses broken on the ground, and an appropriate quote from Shakespeare. Note the prominent Dead Duck symbol on Johnson’s medallion.
